LION GRRL: ANIMATION ACTION SEQUENCE
FINAL PIECE
Here's an animation sequence I made, really as a test to combine 3D motion capture and 3D elements with 2D FX. I wanted the animation to follow traditional 2D animation rules so it didn't feel too digital. It came down to reducing the linear interpolation to frame by frame motion and animating on 2's. Spiderverse is of course does a great example and does this very well.

MOTION CAPTURE. I captured myself doing the basic moves, then it was a case of reducing a load of keyframes down to a simple sequence of fluid moves
2D FX
2D FX. The smoke is hand drawn and motion lines are a custom after effects plugin that I built from native effects.
