Cyberpunk Dioramas
I love model making and miniatures, creating little still life scenes with intricate details, pain stakingly painted and crafted to emulate the real world. Modelling in 3D is the next best thing. You can go in and add as much detail as you want, even down to the screws on the signs (which I did model).
These dioramas are a little cross section of scenes I imagined, showing a few characters and their surroundings. I like that they are cluttered and there's something new to look at each time.
This was a great way to explore lighting and atmosphere in Cinema4D and Vray, the fog makes all the difference. I hope these experiments can somehow translate into my live-action work.
